VEX Robotic Competition

Congratulation to Nathan Yu and Sunny Tan Qualify for VEX IQ World Championship

Nathan Yu, a student at Walteria Elementary School and former student of Torrance Chinese School, along with his teammate Sunny Tan from Chadwick School, has qualified and advanced to the prestigious 2024 VEX Robotics World Championship with their robot named Bad Grammer. The championship is scheduled to be held in Dallas, Texas, from April 25 to May 3.

Nathan and Sunny, whom embarked on their robotics journey just last fall in 2023, have showcased exceptional dedication and talent, emerging as true underdogs in the realm of robotics. Their journey has been marked by countless hours of hard work, determination, and unwavering commitment. On January 28th, they clinched the First Place Team Alliance Championship, securing their southern California qualification. At the Southern California VEX IQ Elementary School Championship on March 9th, following intense battles against some of Southern California’s top competitors, they earned their well-deserved spot in the World Championship.

Nathan, in particular, is eager to represent Walteria Elementary School, the city of Torrance, and celebrate his remarkable achievements on a global stage. His journey serves as an inspiration to all aspiring young minds, emphasizing the importance of perseverance, teamwork, and passion in pursuing STEM education.

We take immense pride in Nathan’s accomplishments and commend him and Sunny for their outstanding achievement. Their success not only reflects their individual dedication but also speaks volumes about the supportive environment fostered at school.

Please join us in congratulating Nathan Yu and Sunny Tan as they prepare to embark on this exciting journey to the 2024 VEX IQ World Championship. We wish them the very best of luck in the up coming competition.
