  • Intro

  • 3rd grade and below will have dictionary look-up contest
  • 4th -6th grade class may either have dictionary look-up or typing contest, decided by the teachers
  • 7th grade and up will have typing contest

Pencil, Chinese dictionary, or fully charged laptop

Note

No need to sign up, everyone will participate in the classroom. Dictionary look-up contest is 10 minutes. Typing contest is 5 minutes.


1. topic: 
 a. The teachers will prepare questions for their own class. Dictionary look-up questions: 60% are new words, 40 % of words learned in the school year
b.  Grade 1-3 will have dictionary look-up contest for 15 words. 
c.  Grade 4-6 can participate either dictionary look-up or typing contest, decided by the teacher. If for dictionary look-up, there will be 20 words. If for typing contest, the content is about 100 words. 
d. Grade 7 and up will have typing contest, the content is about 200 words. 

2. The teachers' preparation: 
  a. Two weeks before the contest: design questions and email the questions to Admin staff. 
  b  One week before the contest : Reminding Students to bring a dictionary or fully charged computers. 
  c  Contest week: Explain the rules to student. 
  d. After the contest, the teachers grade the paper and , enter the winning list to the form. 
e. One week after the contest, the teacher announced winners. 

3. Rewards and the number of winners for each class 
a. If the number of participants are fewer than 10 students, the top two won.  
b. If the number of participants are between 11 to 15, top three won. 
c. If the number of participants are between 16 to 20, the top four won
d. If the number of participants are between 21 to 25, the top five won

e. If the number of participants are between 26 to 30, the top six won

f. The school will prepare the prize and deliver to class rooms in the following week after the contest.
